Now… what do we make of this?
It might be old news to most, but I recently came across Die Antwoord . A crazy Zef-rap act from Cape Town. They recently had their US debut at Coachella…and Boing Boing did a neat interview with them where Yo-Landi describes their music as a “car crash”…its horrifying but you just can’t look away! I think that the “white trash” rap genre making it big in Cape Town and then circulating throughout North America presents some pretty interesting questions. What kind of parody is this?!!
